After a positive check the assistant will lead you step by step through the installation. At the same time all needed files will be copied, and if requested, shortcuts will be added to the Start Menu. After the installation Cubetto® Toolset is immediately usable. However, we recommend that you first read the following chapter to gain a better understanding of the installed files and the connection to the database.

1.1.2. Installation and start with MacOS

To install Cubetto Toolset the Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or higher is required. We recommend Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 6 which is already provided by your OS or Apple Java for Mac OS X 10.5, Update 2.

While downloading Cubetto® Toolset with Mac OS X, a DMG image is available. The Installer appears upon opening of the image. Drag-and-drop Cubetto® Toolset to any place on your hard drive. We recommend the Program directory or the desktop.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Should you have an older version of Cubetto® Toolset, please re-name it before making the installation (for example Cubetto Toolset (old) so that the affiliated models are not removed!

1.1.3. Installation and start with Linux

To install Cubetto Toolset the Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or higher is required. We recommend the Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Engine 1.6.

For an installation with Linux a tar.gz file is available. Extract the file to any directory. Provided the Java Runtime Engine is not contained in the search path, the cubetto.sh file needs to be adapted accordingly. Cubetto® Toolset can afterwards be started by running the file cubetto.sh either in the command bar or by double-clicking it in the file manager.

1.1.4. Generated Data

During the first execution of the Model Editor, the configuration file setup.xml of the tool is copied in the directory cubetto.workspace of your personal folder (using Microsoft Windows® (e.g. C:\dokuments and setup\guest\cubetto.workspace). All the settings done will be saved in this copy. The original file in the installation directory remains unchanged. This is true for any user of a computer, allowing him/her to administer his/her own settings.

1.1.5. License code

The Cubetto Toolset license codes are filed under cubetto.license. If a new license code has been acquired, the data file needs to be copied either in the cubetto.workspace directory in your personal folder or directly in the Cubetto Toolset program directory. The new license code will be activated upon re-start of the tool.
